PROTECT YOUR HOME FROM WILDFIRES

Protect your home or office building from the increasing threat of wildfires. Every building is unique and we will provide an assessment and prioritized recommendations with construction estimates.

Examples of upgrades we might recommend are:

1) Compliance with Chapter 7A of the California Building Code – Materials and Construction Methods for Exterior Wildfire Exposure. California’s Chapter 7A building code is designed to prevent homes from igniting during wildfires by resisting wind-driven embers, radiant heat, and direct flame exposure. They include: a) Class A Fire-Rated Roofing – The highest level of fire resistance, with sealed gaps to block embers; b) Ember-Resistant Vents – 1/8-inch mesh or listed WUI vents to allow airflow while preventing ember intrusion; c) Fire-Resistant Exterior Walls – Built with noncombustible or ignition-resistant materials like stucco, fiber cement, or masonry; d) Tempered Glass Windows – Multi-pane or tempered glazing; e) Noncombustible or Solid-Core Exterior Doors – Garage doors must also be ember-resistant; f) Fire-Retardant Decking & Fencing – Reducing ignition risks for outdoor structures; g) Boxed-In or Enclosed Eaves & Soffits – Preventing embers from entering attic spaces; h) Defensible Space Planning – Strategic landscaping and vegetation management to keep fire at a distance,

2) Upgraded Windows & Frames – Replacing vinyl with durable aluminum frames for increased fire resistance;

3) Interior Fire Sprinkler System – Includes built-in protection to help suppress flames and reduce fire spread.

By investing in these upgrades, you not only increase your home’s wildfire resilience but also potentially lower insurance costs and improve your property’s long-term value.
